Chamber Hosts Rilling for Mayor Fundraiser

Chamber Hosts Rilling for Mayor Fundraiser

In the weeks leading up to Election Day, we showed our support for then candidate and now Mayor Harry Rilling, by partnering with his campaign committee on a lunch fundraiser and meet n’ greet with Chamber members, friends, and family. Thank you to Chamber member Capri’s Cuisine for catering, Board President Mariella Castagnet for hosting, and Hector Pachas for photography.

Why Rilling for Mayor?

Under Rilling’s three terms of leadership, Norwalk has moved into the future with a particularly robust Downtown economy, including the art, restaurant, and retail sectors; and Urban Core neighborhoods in the midst of transformative redevelopment initiatives. He has helped us welcome several new Latino and Hispanic-owned businesses, cutting the ribbon for Chamber members Rene Soto Gallery, Avenida Venezuelan Food, and La Calle Arepas Bar. Rilling has also received the endorsement of other business and labor groups including: Connecticut AFL-CIO Western Connecticut Area Labor Federation, United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Norwalk Police Union, and Norwalk Firefighters Union.

Vargas Strategic Management presents The Power Academy

Vargas Strategic Management presents The Power Academy

Thank you Robert Vargas and Zayed Rodriguez of Vargas Strategic Management for presenting The Power Academy to our members. Topics included business structure, financial planning, operations, and marketing, framed for a general audience. Each workshop was fun, not intimidating at all, while remaining highly beneficial to experienced learners. Their objective is to get audience members into a success mindset, visualizing success as concrete goals that can be realistically achieved with a strategic plan.

Find out how to bring The Power Academy to your organization HERE.

VSM also offers a personalized coaching program for individuals and leadership teams.

On the new Resources page, there are links to the local, state, and federal government agencies that regulate business, as well as some who offer support. I’d like to do additional research into funding opportunities for startups and new businesses, like pitchfests and grants.
