Diana Trujillo: de limpiar casas a pieza clave de la misión a Marte
Nuestra primera historia inspiradora es la de Diana Trujillo, que empezó limpiando casas y acabó trabajando en la NASA. Cuando Diana Trujillo llegó a Estados Unidos ni siquiera hablaba inglés. Tenía 17 años y 300 dólares en el bolsillo. “Cuando pienso en cómo llegué aquí, no puedo creerlo”, dijo en un vídeo de la NASA.
Diana trabaja con manos robóticas para recoger materiales en la superficie del planeta Marte con el fin de comprender y responder a la pregunta “¿Hubo alguna vez vida en la superficie de Marte?”. Cuando reflexiona sobre la oportunidad de trabajar con la NASA, dice que es algo que no puede creer. Trabaja como una mujer hispana que representa a todos aquellos que nunca pensaron que podrían formar parte de algo así y celebra la idea de que cualquiera puede hacerlo. Diana está feliz de tener la oportunidad de formar parte de un grupo que puede cambiar la historia.

Our first inspiring story is that of Diana Trujillo, who started out cleaning houses and ended up working at NASA. When Diana Trujillo arrived in the U.S. she didn’t even speak English. She was 17 years old and had $300 in her pocket. “When I think about how I got here, I can’t believe it,” she said in a NASA video.
Diana works with robotic hands to collect materials on the surface of the planet Mars in order to understand and answer the question ‘Was there ever life on the surface of Mars?’ When she reflects on the opportunity to work with NASA, she says it’s something she can’t believe. She works as a Hispanic woman representing all those who never thought they could be part of something like this and celebrates the idea that anyone can do it. Diana is happy to have the opportunity to be part of a group that can change history.
